The Communications Committee develops ways to share information about IDA and IDA activities with its members. Three newsletters are published each calendar year. Committee solicits input for topics for each of the newsletters and makes recommendations to the State Management Committee. In addition, this committee oversees what is posted on the IDA web site and IDA's monthly eNews and makes content recommendations to the State Management Committee. Conference Committee - 2010 This committee is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing all facets of the IDA state conference. Committee members determine the conference focus based on current early intervention issues and best practice methods and processes. In addition, the committee is responsible for ensuring that the cost for the conference remains within the organizational amount budgeted. Fiscal Committee This committee is typically comprised of the Treasurers from each chapter, the State Treasurer, and the Administrative Coordinator. This committee is responsible for overseeing and recording all financial transactions for the organization, developing the annual budget, making recommendations to the State Management Committee regarding the financial "health" of the organization, filing government reports, and preparing financial reports. All other Board members who have fiscal expertise are welcome to participate on the committee. Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Committee The Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Committee was formed in 2005 to provide a statewide leadership for all disciplines concerned with the social emotional well being of young children and their families. The group's efforts have focused on gathering resources and information, facilitating linkages and providing training and policy development input for California's growing infant/early childhood mental health field. Current committee activities include I/ECMH information on the IDA website, planning training activities, surveys of Early Childhood Mental Health Training Programs in California, and work on policy development and training guidelines. Membership Committee Members are the foundation of IDA. The Membership Committee develops strategies for recruiting, enhancing, and retaining the most vital piece of the organization, the membership. It coordinates efforts with other committees to promote the benefits of IDA membership and distribute membership information at IDA events. In addition, the committee also communicates ideas on outreach activities for the organization to the State Management Committee. Public Policy Committee This committee is very active on a number of public policy issues at a given time. Members write input letters, develop position statements, give testimony, collaborate with other early childhood organizations, attend and participate on a variety of government committees (i.e. Interagency Coordinating Council). Information is shared regularly with the State Management Committee. Resources & Development (R&D) Committee This committee researches potential funding opportunities and fiscal strategies for IDA. They provide input and write grant proposals. Committee also monitors the progress of activities associated with grants received. Training Committee The goal of the Training Committee is to offer four State trainings per year: two in the fall and two in the spring. The committee identifies topics of interest and assists in identifying speakers. The IDA Administrative Coordinator provides the coordination support for the trainings. |
