WHAT THE WORKSHOP IS ABOUT
“Social-emotional development is the foundation for all development and is a critical determiner of success in school and life.” In this workshop participants will discover and learn about initiatives such as: the Take a Minute Campaign and the Strengthening Families 5 Protective Factors, that support the role of parents in the social emotional development of their child. Through interactive activities, participants will explore ways to reinforce the critical role that parents play in this important developmental period.

OUR SPEAKER: Kelly Young, joined WarmLine Family Resource Center in 2011 as the Executive Director. Prior to her employment at WarmLine, Kelly was the Early Start Institute Coordinator at WestEd. Ms. Young was a staff attorney for Disability Rights California were she advocated for the rights of people with developmental disabilities. She was a specialized consultant for SEEDS (Supporting Early Education Delivery Systems) Project of the Sacramento County Office of Education, assisting the California Department of Education in monitoring and technical assistance provision to local education agencies. Kelly Young has BA in business administration, accountancy and a Juris Doctorate.

TIME: 8:00 am - Light breakfast / 8:30 am - 11:30 am Workshop

FEES: $55 IDA Members / $65 Non-Members / $40 Parents

CE’s - Additional fees and on-site registration required to apply for CE’s.

California Board of Registered Nursing - IDA is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider #CEP-12786. The course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for Nurses, as required by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

California Board of Behavior Sciences - IDA is a provider approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, provider #PCE-1516. The course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board - IDA is a provider approved by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board, provider #PDP 248. The course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of professional development credits for SLPs. (Note: This is not ASHA)

Physical Therapy Board of California – IDA is recognized as an approval agency to provide offering continuing competency courses for Physical Therapists. This course provides 3 continuing competency hours.

CE refund requests that are received in writing within 30 days of the course will be processed, less a $5.00 processing fee.

Certificate of Completion
A certificate indicating the number of hours of training will be provided to every participant.
