Stacey LandbergLIVE Coach2Coach Event

with Stacey Landberg, M.S., CCC-SLP
Friday, January 22, 2021 | 12:30pm - 2:00pm (note: now 1.5 hours)

Researchers and experts in the field of early intervention repeatedly find that most early interventionists do not have specific training and knowledge related to best practice patterns for the provision of family-centered services as mandated by Part C of IDEA. These workshops describe and present evidence and demonstrations for using best practices in early intervention, more specifically: using everyday activities and routines as a context for family-centered early intervention. Participants gain an understanding of how to implement coaching strategies and routines-based practices into their virtual and in-person home-visits through video modeling of real home-visits, reflection, and problem solving.

Group PhotoPeer2Peer ~ Early Intervention Support

This event is facilitated by IDA and Stacey Landberg, M.S., CCC-SLP

12:30pm - 1:30pm

It can often be challenging for professionals to connect with colleagues across different disciplines and sometimes even within our same discipline. The current model in California (multidisciplinary) limits the opportunities for peer collaboration and can feel isolating. Peer2Peer provides a virtual platform for professionals to connect in small groups of 5-10 other professionals across disciplines, with breakout room facilitators. We join to share ideas, our experience, knowledge, and specific challenges in order to provide support to one another through the broader lens of caregiver coaching and routines-based intervention.

Mom and BabyPediatric Sleep Intervention for 0-3

with Courtney Palm, LMFT
Friday, February 26, 2021 | 12:00pm - 1:30pm | Zoom Event

Early Intervention (EI) programs are seeing a rise in sleep disorders affecting children in the 0-3 yr category but are struggling to find trained providers to help. Currently, the gap between behavioral and medical sleep intervention is contributing to less effective treatment plans for these children and confusion for their families. The goal of this training is to bridge the gap between systemic (medical) and developmental sleep conditions specific to children between the ages of 0-3 years. We will examine the five most common events related to sleep disruption in early childhood: gestational experience, attachment, nutrition, developmental disorders and trauma. Participants who attend this training will walk away with: assessment tools to evaluate sleep disruption, “whole child” perspective for treatment planning, knowledge of how certain developmental conditions influence sleep, and culturally-sensitive approach to working with families on sleep.
