UPCOMING HIGHLIGHTED EVENT

Vivian Weinstein Leadership Day

Supporting Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their Families

Monday, May 3, 2021 | Virtual Conference
9:00am - 4:00pm
IDA is partnering with the University of Arizona, Western Region Public Health Training Center (WRPHTC) for the Vivian Weinstein Leadership Conference

We know that addressing early screening, evaluation, and treatment of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can significantly change their trajectory. Recent statewide and national surveys have found that many children are not screened, evaluated, and treated before three years old.

Join us at the Vivian Weinstein Leadership Day: Supporting Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their Families to learn about current evidence-based practices, research and public policy to support the learning of young children with ASD.

Water Can

with Stacey Landberg, M.S., CCC-SLP
Friday, April 16 | 12:30pm - 2:00pm

~ Special Guests ~
Dr. Megan Roberts and Ph.D. candiate, Bailey Sone
You don't want to miss our next Coach2Coach (C2C) event! We're ecstatic to host Dr. Megan Roberts and Ph.D. candidate, Bailey Sone as they discuss the latest research with us on 4/16/21 from 12:30 pm - 2:00pm PST.  As always we'll also watch a real and recent virtual E.I. home-visit while practicing coaching strategies together! Our meta-analysis showed that parents learned to use strategies at significantly higher rates when coaching was used versus when it wasn't. In other words, parents learn to implement strategies much better when they're coached! (Sone, Lee, Roberts, 2021)

These workshops describe and present evidence and demonstrations for using best practices in early intervention, more specifically: using everyday activities and routines as a context for family-centered early intervention. Participants gain an understanding of how to implement coaching strategies and routines-based practices into their virtual and in-person home-visits through video modeling of real home-visits, reflection, and problem solving.
