This training will examine how trauma impacts the different areas of de
velopment in the first five years of life and how those delays interact wit
h each other. Attendees will learn how to assess the trauma impact and crea
te a treatment plan.
We will also discuss the importance of a mu
ltidisciplinary approach to treatment and how to team with different discip
lines. Finally, we will explore alternative treatments to trauma compared w
ith current evidence based practices.
Participant Objectives:
Courtney Palm holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology f
rom Pepperdine University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist w
orking in this field since 2005. She completed three years of a clinical in
ternship to specialize in child development and sleep intervention through
the Child Development Institute in California. Courtney is certified in DIR
: Floortime, the Neuro-Sequential Model of Therapeutics, and the Babies/Pre
-Steps Model of Intervention for premature babies.
