This session will build on Part 1, so participants should have attended the Part 1 session or have a working knowledge of sensory integration concepts. Using case studies and real-world clinical challenges, attendees will learn strategies to promote the development and participation of children with sensory processing challenges. Stacy Frauwirth is the Director of Child Development Services at Through the Looking Glass in Berkeley, CA. Stacy is a licensed occupational therapist with more than 25 years of pediatric clinical, teaching, and supervisory experience.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to apply a sensory processing lens to interpret child behavior
- Participants will understand basic sensory diet and other sensory-based strategies that can be applied in the home to support regulation and reduce family stress.
- Participants will be able to identify when a referral for occupational therapy assessment is indicated.
